The HFD3080 Type HFD circuit breaker with 3 poles is part of Eaton’s Series C of protective products. This model features a cable in/cable out and a load terminal only. The HFD3080 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker also includes a non-interchangeable trip unit and it has a molded case with a type F frame. The 3-pole breaker has a maximum continuous current of 80 Amps at 40 degrees Celsius temperature and a 65 kAIC interruption rating at 480 Volts AC. The HFD3080 breaker works on a maximum of 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC. The HFD3080 is panel-mounted and it has an AC interrupt rating of 65000 Volts AC. These circuit breakers can have factory installed accessories that further expand their capabilities and the users should be careful not to cover the accessory wiring when the circuit breaker is mounted.
The HFD3080 circuit breaker has many options and features that could fulfill the requirements of many applications, but the users should be aware that there are various models available for specific needs. However, this model offers a high-quality and reliable circuit protection solution which is certified by the latest and most relevant standards. The HFD3080 circuit breaker is certified according to both UL and CSA but there are also limited IEC variants which are not dual-rated in all cases. This circuit breaker has a standard size and pre-installed accessories that can be reached through the cover. Even though this domestic-only model has fewer options than other models, it offers a fair number of functions that can be utilized to enhance the overall system. The F-frame circuit breakers offer the availability of tested and certified power distribution blocks and several direct current optional features. The operating temperature for this circuit breaker ranges from 0 to 40 degrees Celsius as standard, but it can be upgraded to work in a -20 to 70 degrees Celsius temperature range.
