The HFD3070 is a circuit breaker that is manufactured by Eaton. It is a high-voltage circuit breaker that can be used for a wide range of domestic and industrial applications. It comes from the HFD C Series which is specifically made for industrial loads where a large current is expected. The HFD3070 is a 3-pole device. It can work for 3-phase applications at up to 600 Volts AC and it has a DC Voltage rating up to 250 Volts DC. The AC operation frequency ranges from 50 to 60 Hertz. It can be born up to 70 Amps of current on the load side. It is a compact device with dimensions of 3.38 inches x 4.13 inches x 4.13 inches. The HFD3070 is a fixed thermal magnetic trip type of circuit breaker. It is a molded case circuit breaker with an F frame and with DIN Rail type mounting. The device is lightweight at just 4.3 pounds, which ensures portability. The compact size and light weight allow it to be used for the protection of portable industrial equipment.
The overcurrent protection rating of this device is quite efficient. The HFD3070 bears 100 kilo-Amps interrupt current at 240 Volts AC and 65 kilo-Amps at 480 Volts AC. In the industrial sector, such current capacities are highly useful because of inductive loads such as squirrel cage motors or induction motors. Also, they can provide protection to motor driver circuits which are critical to the smooth running of industrial operations.
