The Eaton Cutler-Hammer HFD3030 is a series C circuit breaker. The circuit breaker case is completely molded and factory sealed eliminating the need of user installed internal components. The HFD3030 has a length of 3.38 inches, a width of 4.13 inches, and a height of 4.13 inches. To minimize the chances of improper wiring and interfacing with the wrong devices, the HFD3030 has a label on its faceplate. The circuit breaker is of type HFD and has an F frame size. The HFD3030 only has terminals on the load side.
The operating voltage for the circuit breaker is rated at 600 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC. Additionally, the HFD3030 has a current rating of 30 Amperes, a fixed magnetic fixed thermal trip type, and three poles. Due to its factory seal, which is defined in the UL498 listing, the HFD3030 comes with a non-interchangeable trip unit. Molded case circuit breakers with an Ampere rating of between 10 and 30, which includes the HFD3030, can be used for High-Intensity Discharge (HID) use. The molded case for the HFD3030 and all other circuit breakers using a molded case is made from glass-polyester which does not encourage the growth of fungus. The HFD3030, having a type F frame meets the U.S Coast Guard CFR 46; ABS-American Bureau of Shipping, IEEE 45, DNV, Lloyds, and ABS/NVR specifications. Note that all Eaton molded case circuit breakers exceed FSC (Federal Specification Classification) W-C-375b requirements in any class of circuit breaker frame. Also, the HFD3030 is compliant with Japanese (T-Mark), South African (SABS 156), Swiss (SEV 157-1) standards for molded case circuit breakers among others.
