The Cutler-Hammer HFD3025 is a circuit breaker that belongs to Series C of the Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers. Circuit breakers are widely used in all industrial applications that include circuits and electrical appliances and that require high current switching capabilities. The Cutler-Hammer HFD3025 circuit breaker operates with a maximum continuous current rating of 25 Amps at a specific temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. This temperature is the one used at the moment of the calibration, and if the breaker is going to be used with a higher temperature, it should be derated or calibrated according to the new, higher temperature. If the Cutler-Hammer HFD3025 circuit breaker is going to be used with a different temperature and into a different enclosure, its specifications must be derated.
The Cutler-Hammer HFD3025 circuit breaker features 3 poles and it operates with a thermal-magnetic trip unit technology and there is a wide range of accessories that can be applied to them, externally and internally. Circuit breakers are meant to impede the fires and short circuits that may come from electrical failures. They work with a trip mechanism that stops any action that could damage the equipment or the whole system. The Cutler-Hammer HFD3025 circuit breaker has an approximate shipping weight of 4.5 pounds (2.0 kilograms), an approximate width of 4.13 inches (105.0 millimeters), a height of 6.00 inches (152.4 millimeters) and a depth of 3.38 inches (86.0 millimeters). When it comes to standards and certifications, this circuit breaker meets the requirements of the UL 489 and UL 1053 standards.
