The FDE308032 is a Series C molded case circuit breaker from Cutler-Hammer/Westinghouse. The breaker has an FD frame type, 3 poles, and an amperage rating of 80 Amps. The FDE308032 feature instantaneous trip functions. The trip mechanism for the FDE308032 is electronic but it does not have zone-selective interlocking capabilities. The circuit breaker contains terminals on the load side only. All Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers under the FDE family can be interfaced with auxiliary switches, alarm switches, shunt trips, and a host of other similar devices. The Eaton FDE308032 electronic circuit breaker, as with other FDE breakers, uses the right pole pocket to connect with the trip actuation device which in turn connects with the electronic trip unit.
The FDE308032 has all of its internal components fitted at the factory, completely sealing the breaker against the possibility of installing such components in the field. The circuit breaker’s terminals are in line with the UL 486A and UL 486B standards. Having 310+ instantaneous trip features, the FDE308032 has an enhanced coordination which is provided through its curve shaping options. The FDE308032 is designed to provide overload protection needs. The Westinghouse FDE308032 has an interrupt rating of 25,000 Amps of interrupt capacity at 600 Volts AC, 35,000 Amps interrupt capacity at 480 Volts AC. The FDE308032 can be used to provide protection in distribution systems either for the main circuit or the branch circuit. Additionally, the FDE308032, as with other Eaton Series C molded case circuit breakers, can be used for protection in a busbar trunking tap-off.
