The FDC4100 is an authentic Cutler-Hammer fuzzy logic+ based microprocessor controller that comes with 2 bright but easy-to-read 4-digit LED displays. This module, which belongs to the FDC 100 Series, can be panel-mounted and powered by either 26 Volts DC or 250 Volts AC power supply. The easy-to-read LED display units to indicate the process value and it can be used to set the setpoint value. The fuzzy logic technology utilized in this module enables processes to reach the required pre-set point within the shortest period of time. Plus, the technology ensures that processes run at a minimum overshoot—especially during power-up and external load disturbance. The FDC4100 comes with a second output—which is used to cool the control or alarm. With this module, both of its outputs can be used to select triac, linear, the current/voltage to the drive, or the 5 Volts logic output. Even more, the unit is fully programmable for all types of thermocouples. Therefore, there is no need to modify the module.
The FDC4100’s input signal has been digitized with an 18-bit A-D converter. The module features a fast sampling rate of 5 scans per second, allowing it to control and run fast industrial processes. The unit is also outfitted with additional digital communication options (i.e. the RS-485 or RS-232). With these options, users can integrate the unit with supervisory control systems as well as software. The unit comes with a programming port—that allows for automatic configuration and testing in addition to calibration. The FDC4100’s programming port eliminates the need to access the keys from the front panel. Other great features of the FDC4100 include high accuracy, flexible control, 18-bit input resolution, and 15-bit based output resolution. Even more, the unit is outfitted with an isolated transmitter based power supply.
