The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FDC3150 is an FDC type of circuit breaker with a molded case. This device is part of Eaton’s C Series that offers top-class circuit protection solutions for low-voltage distribution systems. These circuit breakers are designed to provide the necessary protection for conductors when current overloads occur and also to provide protection from short circuits if motors, motor starters, or conductors are connected. The molded case circuit breakers are used for many different industrial applications and they are made for different requirements. This category of circuit breakers includes thermal magnetic trip breakers, current limiting breakers, special application breakers, electronic RMS trip breakers, motor circuit protectors, and molded case switches. The circuit breakers from Series C are available in 8 different frames and this series offers several variations to fulfill different application requirements.
The FDC3150 molded case circuit breaker has an interrupt rating of 200 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and of 100 kAIC at 480 Volts AC and at 50 to 60 Hertz frequency rating. In addition to that, this circuit breaker operates with systems that use 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC power sources, and it also has an amperage rating of 150 Amps. Generally, the FDC circuit breakers are manufactured in the 15 to 225 Amps of continuous amperage rating at 40 degrees Celsius. The FDC3150 model is made with 3 poles and it includes load side terminals. This circuit breaker has a complete breaker frame type with the F designation and it includes fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip types. The FDC3150 is made as a standard type of circuit breaker intended for the domestic market. This circuit breaker is also certified by UL and it includes fewer options and factory installed accessories than circuit breakers from other series. The dimensions of the device include a length of 19.3 centimeters (7.6 inches), a height of 12.4 centimeters (4.9 inches), and a width of 12.7 centimeters (5 inches).
