The Cutler-Hammer FDC2125 is a 2-pole molded case circuit breaker made by Cutler-Hammer (a division of the Eaton Corporation). This is a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker. The FDC2125 incorporates elements that are engineered to sense the excessive heat resulting from a current overload condition and also to sense the high current that will occur during a short circuit. This module delivers perfect protection to the equipment and operators when it is used for applications connected to voltages lower than 600 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC. Both the magnetic and thermal trips are not adjustable or interchangeable. Although it is not flexible when it comes to trip adjustments, this device will compensate by offering an interrupting rating of 200 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and one of 100 kAIC at 480 Volts AC.
The device has an F-frame housing. The Eaton FDC2125 can conduct 125 Amps of current in the normal operating state (calibrated at 40 degrees Celsius). Its tripping current is influenced by the surrounding air temperature, and users should factor that fact in when selecting a protection device for electrical circuits. In addition, this circuit breaker has a “push-to-trip” button. On the front of the FDC2125, the handle can move between 3 possible states: “on”, “off”, or “trip”. If an overcurrent or short-circuit is sensed by the device, the handle will go to the “trip” position, and the power will not be delivered to the load side of the module anymore. In this way, devices positioned behind this MCCB are protected. The weight of this item is 2 pounds (0.91 kilograms). The product is CSA and UL listed.
