The Eaton FDB4110 is a thermal magnetic circuit breaker. The breaker has a non-replaceable trip unit and it has 4 poles. The FDB4110 belongs to the Series C group of circuit breakers with an F frame size and a molded case. The breaker’s terminals are only present on the load side. For the capacity, the FDB4110 has an interrupting capacity of 18 kAIC at a voltage of 240 Volts AC under the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) 489 standards. Additionally, under these standards, the FDB4110 has 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC, but no interrupting capacity rating at 125 Volts DC.
Also, under the IEC 157-1 interrupting capacity ratings, the FDB4110 has 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC but no capacity ratings at 125 Volts DC. The Eaton FDB4110 has a maximum continuous current rating of 110 Amps tested at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. In standard applications, the circuit breaker is designed to accommodate an operating frequency (with an alternating current) of between 50 and 60 Hertz. The FDB4110, as with other circuit breakers with an F frame, can be used in reverse feed applications. The circuit breaker is factory-assembled with the intention of providing years of circuit protection with minimal maintenance. However, when carrying out the few necessary maintenance procedures, e.g. cleaning the terminal and the casing, also check the device for things like extreme discoloration of the molded case or the signs of melting on the terminals. Melting indicates overheating and it can be caused by loose terminals or excessive ambient temperature.
