The FDB2070 is a molded case circuit breaker that uses fixed-thermal and fixed-magnetic technology. The fixed-thermal technology employs a bimetal strip that gets enough of the heat that is generated by a current to bend itself. Once it bends itself at its maximum level, it rotates the bar to switch the current. The fixed-magnetic technology consists of a magnet that receives a load current. The bimetal strip can detect a load current whereas the electromagnet detects a short circuit current. Both of them combined offer a great protection to circuits and electrical systems. This breaker has been designed by Eaton Cutler-Hammer and it belongs to the C Series of molded case circuit breakers.
The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FDB2070 molded case circuit breaker features 2 poles and it operates with a maximum amperage rating of 70 Amps and a voltage of 250 Volts DC and 600 Volts AC. This breaker is the FD type. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FDB2070 molded case circuit breaker has an interrupting capacity of 14 symmetrical Amps at 480 Volts AC, this capacity has been tested in the open air and the whole calibration process has been performed with a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. If the breaker is going to be exposed to temperatures higher than 40 degrees Celsius or if it is going to be installed in an enclosure, there is the possibility of it being derated.
