The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FDB2020 is a molded case circuit breaker from the C Series. It is a 20 Amps rated device that can be connected to 250 Volts DC or to 600 Volts AC voltages. The FDB2020 module is installed between the power supply and the user applications to provide circuit protection from electrical hazards. These include short-circuits, overloads, and ground faults. With additional parts attached to the module, this device can detect undervoltage states and manage shunt trips. Practically every electrical device and system used in an industrial environment has the potential need to rely on this kind of circuit breaker.
The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FDB2020 F-frame molded case circuit breaker is designed and tested in accordance with the UL-489 standard requirements. This implies that this module can be used for reversed feed use. Its current rating is calibrated in the factory at 40 degrees Celsius, but users should be aware that this circuit breaker is 80% duty rated. The design of the FDB2020 is adjusted to industrial environments and it tends to increase installation productivity and to minimize labor costs. The rugged plastic housing of the MCCB provides protection to the internal moving parts and to the operator from the electric shock hazard. The interrupting capacity of the module is 14 kAIC at 600 Volts AC and 10 kAIC at 250 Volts DC. If it is implemented in AC supplied circuits, this circuit breaker operates at 50 to 60 Hertz frequency. This device is a 2-pole protector intended to increase safety for systems distributing a low level of voltage power (up to 600 Volts AC).
