The FDB2015 is a molded case circuit breaker developed by Eaton Cutler-Hammer’s electrical sector. This MCCB falls in the FDB type subcategory of Eaton’s C Series of circuit breakers. The device has a current rating of 15 Amps. It is declared as a 2-pole thermal-magnetic protective device with a non-interchangeable trip unit. The trip unit is factory-installed to fulfill the UL 489 requirements. The main thing about this feature is to ensure that the device can be reverse fed. Generally, if users do not anticipate a specific need to change the breaker’s amperage sometime in the future, the best thing to do is to have the device assembled according to Eatons’ specifications in the factory.
The Cutler-Hammer FDB2015 is an F-frame circuit breaker that features a 14 kAIC at 480 Volts AC and at 600 Volts AC. Most of Eatons’ thermal-magnetic MCCBs are applicable on DC systems too. The FDB2015 can be connected to 250 Volts DC systems in a way to attach 1 pole on each leg of the supply electrical circuit. The device weighs around 3 pounds (1.36 kilograms) with a height of 6 inches, a length of 3.38 inches, and a width of 2.75 inches. The FDB2015 circuit breaker, like all Cutler-Hammer F-frame circuit breakers, comes as an HACR-rated electrical circuit protector. Because it is rated at less than 35 Amps, this module is also suitable for the high-intensity discharge use. For the most common industrial applications, this module will offer the necessary protection against short-circuits and thus prevent damage to the conductors and equipment.
