The Eaton Cutler-Hammer FDB2010 Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breaker is a complete factory-assembled circuit breaker in the Frame F Series C family of molded case circuit breakers that are used for circuit protection in most low-voltage distribution systems. It protects conductors and connected electrical devices from short-circuits and overloads, and it is designed with 2-pole wiring and load side terminals for easy field wiring. The FDB2010 has a rated operating current of 10 Amps, which is suitable for High-Intensity Discharge (HID) applications, and a maximum interrupting rating of 35 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. It is suitable for circuits with a maximum line voltage rating of 600 Volts AC/250 Volts DC, and it is rated for reverse feed and HACR use.
The FDB2010 factory assembled circuit breaker comprises a frame made of a sealed insulated enclosure, a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit consisting of magnetic and bimetal trip elements, and load-side-only standard pressure terminals. The terminals are designed to withstand the nominal breaker current rating, and they are supplied with terminal covers which provide added protection against wear. The FDB2010’s trip unit consists of thermal and magnetic trip elements which provide fast-acting and instantaneous trip action by using load-heated bimetal strips and a series of connected electromagnets. In addition to the trip unit and load terminals, the FDB2010 also has a trip-free mechanical operating mechanism, which holds the breaker contacts apart in the event of an abnormal current condition, and also indicates whether the breaker is on, tripped, or off. The FDB2010 has CSA, UL, and CE certifications, and total shipping dimensions of 70.0 x 152.4 x 86.0 millimeters.
