The FD4225 is a thermal magnetic circuit breaker manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The Cutler-Hammer FD4225 circuit breaker belongs to Series C of the Eaton FD Type Molded Case Circuit Breakers. The Cutler-Hammer FD4225 circuit breaker features 4 poles, 3 phases of power, 225 Amps of current, 600 Volts AC voltage at 50 to 60 Hertz, an interrupting rating of 18 kAIC at 600 Volts AC and lug terminals for side loads. The Cutler-Hammer FD4225 circuit breaker is operated via a toggle-design mechanism which is mechanically independent of the handle in such a way that the contacts cannot be held closed against the short circuit currents.
Tripping resulting from overloading or short circuits on the Cutler-Hammer FD4225 circuit breaker is clearly shown by the position on the handle. This dependable and fast contact characteristic of the Cutler-Hammer FD4225 circuit breaker is designed to enhance safety. The toggle handles integrate into the tripped location when the Cutler-Hammer FD4225 circuit breaker is tripped by one of the overcurrent presents on the Cutler-Hammer FD4225 circuit breaker or undervoltage induced. The Cutler-Hammer FD4225 circuit breaker can be switched off due to a trip-out action by bringing the toggle handle beyond the off position. The Cutler-Hammer FD4225 circuit breaker is equipped with field-installed multi-wire connectors used to distribute loads from the Cutler-Hammer FD4225 circuit breaker to other devices when there is only one terminal block for distribution.
