The FD3030 is a high-quality circuit breaker that is manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. The FD3030 is a molded case circuit breaker. Molded case circuit breakers are one type of breaker among the other circuit breaker product lines from Eaton and these product lines include different types of circuit breakers such as motor circuit protectors, thermal and magnetic breakers, electronic trip breakers, and others. A notable characteristic of the FD3030 molded case circuit breaker is that it accommodates installations in the load side terminals only. This makes it less compatible with other types of C Series products from Cutler-Hammer. This also makes the FD3030 less compatible with certain types of electronic and machine OEMs which are more compatible with other C Series circuit breakers.
The maximum voltage rating of the FD3030 is fixed at 600 Volts AC and 250 Volts DC. The FD3030 has a current rating of 30 Amps. Like the heavier models, the FD3030 circuit breakers also have a 3-pole set-up. The FD3030 makes up for its compatibility issues through its enhanced interruption ratings. Most other C Series circuit breakers have 2 interrupt ratings, but the FD3030 has 3. The interrupt ratings for the FD3030 are 65, 18, and 10 kAIC at 240 Volts AC, 600 Volts AC, and 250 Volts DC, respectively. The FD3030 requires a G-frame for an enclosure that is NEMA approved. The device comes with a 1-year or 1 and a half-year warranty based on whether it is being shipped or installed. The dimensions of the FD3030 measure 4.9 x 4.9 x 7.7 inches.
