The FD1040 Series C Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a C series, FD frame device by Eaton Cutler-Hammer and is used for circuit overload and overcurrent protection in a wide range of applications. This multi-purpose circuit breaker has a non-modifiable trip module with a thermal magnetic element which is designed to prevent adjustment by users, therefore preventing the error from tampering, and it is designed to provide years of maintenance-free operation, thereby saving cost. The FD1040 has a maximum trip rating of 40 Ampere with a maximum fault limit (interrupt) rating of 25 KAIC at 277 Volts AC and 10 KAIC at 125 Volt DC, and it is suitable for 277 Volt AC or 125 Volt DC applications. This single pole thermal magnetic circuit breaker is designed for 1-phase applications only, and it comes with a load only terminals for user’s flexibility. The FD1040 has a bimetal strip which quickly deflects when there is current overload causing a trip, and it has a PUSH-TO-TRIP button, which is used to periodically check trips. The FD1040 is designed for reverse feed and High-Intensity Discharge use, and it is rated HACR for Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration applications. This device has ambient functioning temperature boundary of 60 degree Celsius (without impeding functions), and it is CSA and UL certified for use. The FD1040 weighs approximately 0.97 Kilogram (2.0 Pounds), and has a total mounting dimension of 35 x 152 x 86 millimeters (1.38 x 6.0 x 3.71 inches).
