The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EHD3010 Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a thermal-magnetic circuit in the Series C Frame F family of multi-purpose circuit breakers with a non-interchangeable trip unit that is used for main or branch circuit protection in a wide range of low-voltage distribution systems. This breaker, like all breakers within this current rating range (10 to 30 Amps), are specifically designed for High-Intensity Discharge (HID) use, and they are also rated for HACR (Heating, Air-conditioning, and Refrigerating) and for reverse feed use. The EHD3010 has a nominal current rating of 10 Amps, with an interrupt rating of 65 Kilo-Amps Interrupting Capacity (KAIC), and it is suitable for applications with a line operating voltage of 600 Volts AC. It has a 3-pole wiring system, with a standard copper/aluminum steel pressure terminal attached to each pole, and it can be wired for both single and 3-phase use.
The EHD3010 has a sealed, insulated enclosure which protects against tampering with integral internal components, and which protects field personnel from hazardous shocks. It has a non-interchangeable trip unit made of fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip elements, which provides fast-acting and instantaneous trip actions by using electromagnets connected in series with a line load and a bimetal strip which deflects upon being heated by prolonged current overload. The EHD3010 also has a trip-free operating mechanism of the quick make/break type, which prevents the breaker’s contact from closing in the event of circuit overloads, and which also indicates whether the breaker is tripped, on, or off. It has a rated operating temperature limit of 40 degrees Celsius, and it works well within a 0 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity range. The EHD3010 has an average weight of 2.0 kilograms (4.5 pounds), and it has total shipping dimensions of 105.0 x 152.4 x 86.0 millimeters (4.13 x 6.0 x 3.38 inches).
