The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EHD2090 Series C Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a completely assembled Frame FD circuit breaker with a fixed thermal-magnetic trip that is used for circuit protection in a variety of low voltage systems. The factory assembled unit comprises an FD Frame made of an insulated material enclosure, copper/aluminum load and line side terminals with terminal covers, and a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit which provides both magnetic and thermal trip actions. The EHD2090 has 2-pole wiring with a rated operating current of 90 Amps, and a maximum interrupt capacity of 65 kAIC at 480 Volts input. It is built for voltage systems, with 600 Volts maximum terminal voltages, and similar to all F Frame breakers, it is rated for HACR and reverse feed use.
The EHD2090 has both line and load end standard terminals made of copper/aluminum steel conductors with a 2.5 by 50 millimeters square wire area and a terminal cover to protect against wear. It also has a trip unit with thermal and magnetic trip elements which provide thermal and magnetic trip actions by using a current-heated bimetal strip and electromagnet set in series with a line current. The EHD2090 has a trip-free operating mechanism which completely holds the breaker contacts from being closed in an abnormal circuit condition using electromechanical force, and which also indicates the breaker’s position, whether it is on, off, or tripped. The EHD2090, like all Eaton Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers, is rated for use below a temperature limit of 40 degrees Celsius, and like every circuit breaker with thermal-magnetic trip units, it is rated 80% below this temperature limit. The EHD2090 weighs approximately 1.4 kilograms, with a total mounting volume of 70.0 x 152.4 x 86.0 millimeters, and it is CE, UL, and CSA certified.
