The EHD2050 is an Eaton Cutler-Hammer Series C complete molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) with a 50 Amps current rating. The continuous current rating of the EHD2050 is the amount of current that this MCCB can carry in the open air. This value is linked to the operating temperature value. For ambient temperatures of over 40 degrees, this current rating is slightly reduced. This thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is suitable for High Intensity Discharge (HID). The interrupting rating for this MCCB is 18 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and 14 kAIC at 480 Volts AC. The interrupt rating of the circuit breaker always decreases when the voltage increases. Users should pay attention to the interrupt rating because it is the most crucial factor in the breaker selection process.
This value must be synchronized with the users’ applications because it is the amount of fault current that this device can safely interrupt without being damaged. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EHD2050 2-pole MCCB has a push-to-trip mechanism which allows the users to test the trip mechanism by manual means. The device is packed inside of an F frame housing that has dimensions of 3.38 inches x 2.75 inches x 6.00 inches (86 millimeters x 70 millimeters x 152 millimeters). The EHD2050 has terminals on the load side. It can be connected to a maximum of 480 Volts AC or 250 Volts DC. The MCCB’s trip mechanism is controlled by fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip controls. These 2 trip types protect the electrical installation from overcurrents and short-circuits.
