The EHD1090 is an EHD Type Molded Case Circuit Breaker with a non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip manufactured by Cutler-Hammer (Division of Eaton Corporation). The EHD1090 has a 90 Amps current rating, with a 4 Kilo-Ampere Interrupting Capacity (KAIC) at 277 Volts AC. The module is used in a low-voltage applications with a maximum voltage rating of 277 Volts AC or 125 Volts DC. Its purpose lays in preventing malfunctions in power system distributing. Its action includes current flow breaking in cases such as overload, short-circuit, or undervoltage. There are occasions when this MCCB can be used as a sporadic ON-OFF switch under power system in normal conditions. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EHD1090 is easily operated by using a circuit breaker handle. It can be positioned in ON, OFF, or TRIP position. It is designed to provide instantaneous circuit breaking in fault conditions and to protect conductors and connected electrical devices. The EHD1090 molded case circuit breaker looks for very little maintenance.
The EHD1090 module should be checked from time to time to ascertain its functionality, because it may happen that this device never trips in a lifetime. The device should be inspected for accumulated dust or dirt, and for corrosion. The tripping mechanism should be operated manually when it is safe for the equipment. This is conducted by pressing the PUSH-TO-TRIP button. If you notice unusual tripping delays or if your circuit breaker does not trip at all, you should replace the device immediately. The EHD1090 has a maximum ambient operating temperature rated at 70 degrees Celsius (168 degrees Fahrenheit), with a 0.9 kilograms (2.0 pounds) net weight and with a total consuming volume of 162.4 x 35.1 x 85.7 millimeters (6.0 x 1.38 x 3.38 inches).
