The EDB2175 by Eaton Corporation is a complete F-frame circuit breaker with a continuous current rating of 175 Amps. All F-frame circuit breaker are HACR rated and suited for reverse feed applications. The EDB2175 is an EDB type circuit breaker and EDB type breakers are available for 10 to 225 Amps ratings. The voltage specifications for the EDB2175 are 125 Volts DC and 240 Volts AC. The frequency specifications for the EDB2175 are 50 and 60 Hertz. It measures 6 x 2.75 x 3.38 inches and it weighs 3 pounds. The 2-pole EDB2175 is rated for 22 kAIC at 240 Volts AC. The load side terminals are provided with the breaker. A fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit is integrated into the breaker.
Contact with very high voltage and high current devices can lead to serious injury and even death. Therefore, it is highly recommended that all activities including the installation, servicing, and the testing on the EDB2175 should be carried out while the breaker and associated electrical equipment are clear of voltages. The EDB2175 is a UL-certified circuit breaker and to comply with the UL certification requirements, the breaker is factory sealed after the internal accessory installation. The factory sealing also helps to prevent any possible tampering with the calibration of the breaker. However, the installation of accessories in the field can be performed if required and where local codes allow it to be performed. Aluminum terminals are used on the EDB2175. Either 25 to 95 mm2 copper or aluminum conductors can be used for terminations at the breaker terminals.
