The Eaton EDB2150 is an F-frame Series C circuit breaker with a 150 Amps current rating. F-frame breakers are available for 15 to 225 Amps current ratings and they are available as molded case switches and circuit breakers. The voltage ratings for the EDB2150 are 125 Volts DC or 240 Volts AC (at 50 and 60 Hertz). The Eaton EDB2150 has following interrupt specifications: 22 kiloamps of interrupt capacity at 240 Volts AC and 10 kiloamps of interrupting capacity at 125 Volts DC. The complete EDB2150 has an integrated non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip module.
For reliable long-term operation and performance, periodic inspection of the EDB2150 should be performed. Before the inspection, the breaker should be powered off and the work area should be cleared of voltages. Because commercial cleaning agents can cause breaker damage, it should be ensured that a suitable cleaning agent is used which does not adversely affect the circuit breaker. During the inspection, dust, grease, and moisture should be removed from the surface of the breaker. To check the mechanical linkages, the breaker should be switched on and off a few times. To check mechanical tripping, the push-to-trip button should be pressed a few times. The breaker should be checked for cracks and discoloration. Terminals and connectors should be checked for signs of overheating and for looseness. Any field testing of the breaker should be performed as per the NEMA standards. The 2-pole EDB2150 weights approximately 1.3 kilograms. The dimensions of the EDB2150 are 6 inches in height, 2.75 inches in width, and 3.38 inches in depth.
