The Eaton EDB2125 is a complete ED type of circuit breaker which is UL certified. The EDB2125 has a current rating of 125 Amps and a voltage rating of 240 Volts AC/125 Volts DC. The frequency rating for the circuit breaker is 50/60 Hertz. The interrupt ratings for the breaker are 22 kAIC at 240 Volts AC and 125 kAIC at 125 Volts DC. The EDB2125 is a 2-pole breaker. It has a built-in fixed thermal/fixed magnetic trip unit and this includes the load side terminals. A joint compound is recommended to be used with aluminum terminals to prevent terminal overheating (which could lead to random breaker tripping and damage to the circuit breaker). To satisfy the UL standards, the internal accessories are installed at the factory and then the breaker is sealed to prevent tampering. Field installation of accessories can be done where local codes and regulations permit the practice.
Prior to installation, the nameplate specifications of the circuit breaker should be compared with system requirements to confirm suitability. To protect technicians from serious injury and death and to prevent equipment damage, the maintenance and installation of the EDB2125 should only be performed when the circuit breaker is in the off state. The installation process comprises inspecting the circuit breaker for damage, mounting it, and then connecting the line and load terminations. The EDB2125 is available in an F-frame. Its approximate weight is 3 pounds and its dimensions are 6 x 2.75 x 3.38 inches.
