The ED2150 is a Cutler Hammer complete molded case circuit breaker from Eaton. The circuit breaker accommodates both AC (240 Volts) and DC (125 Volts) operating voltages. The ED2150 has a fixed thermal and a fixed magnetic trip type, a current rating of 150 amperes, and an operating frequency rating of between 50 and 60 Hertz. Additionally, the ED2150 has two poles, has line and load terminals, and has a type “F” frame. The ED2150 measure 3.5 inches by 5.2 inches by 7.3 inches, and weighs 2 pounds. The Cutler-Hammer ED2150 complete molded circuit breaker belongs to the series C of Cutler Hammer circuit breakers and is of type ED. Cutler Hammer C series molded case circuit breakers are meant to offer a maintenance-free operation for the longest time possible. These circuit breakers should be inspected from time to time to ascertain their continued functioning. While inspecting the C series Cutler Hammer circuit breakers including the ED2150, accumulated dust, dirt, soot, moisture, and or grease should be removed. Also, the tripping mechanism should be tested manually by pressing the PUSH-TO-TRIP. If tripping delays are noted or if the breaker does not trip at all, it should be replaced.
The ED2150 operates in three modes, ON (Red), TRIP (white), and OFF (green). After tripping the ED2150 is reset by moving the circuit breaker handle position to the extreme OFF position. Note that the reset function on the ED2150 cannot be done until the thermal element cools completely. Having an F type frame, the ED2150 is factory sealed and being UL489 listed requires that all internal components be installed as the ED2150 is being manufactured meaning that the ED2150 has no option for field installations of internal components.
