This 2711-K9A8L1 is a discontinued product made for implementing Human Machine Interface (HMI) between operators, processes or machines. Technically, HMI enables access to the logic program inside a controller and it allows direct manipulation from the HMI. Typically installed 2711-K9A8L1 is generally installed in the low-level automation area or factory floor. The HMI helps eliminate and decommission conventional hardwiring systems however, never use the PanelView as the only control source for handling emergency plant conditions such as emergency stop, alarm acknowledgement, bypass and lock-out. 2711-K9A8L1 HMI has a 9 in. monochrome Display. This Panelview comes with a DeviceNet communication port for interfacing with automation elements in the plant floor. It can also implement alarm handling including printing of alarms by communicating to an IBM enhanced character set printer. The Sixteen (16) function keys from F1 to F16, numeric keys, directional buttons and enter buttons comprise the Keypad assembly with each button expected to last up to 1 million actuations. Internal memory allocation the the PanelView 600 included 310KB Random Access Memory that is being used in Runtime Environment, 1008Kbytes of Non-volatile memory used for storing terminal files. It also hosts the Application file which makes the project file capable of being uploaded for backup purposes. The terminal also supports use of memory card or non-volatile expansion to further extend the functionality of the hardware. The 2711-K9A8L1 has a built-in configuration mode menu accessible during power-up. This mode menu provides terminal settings modification such as address, time zone, project selection and runtime activation/de-activation. A Windows based software, the PanelBuilder32 is used to develop projects for the software. This is where graphics are developed which the configuration mode does not support, The software has higher priority over the configuration mode.
