The 2711-K6C3 Human Machine Interface (HMI) device is a PanelView 600 manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This electronic hardware allows factory floor interaction between operators and processes or machines. This hardware uses a custom application made externally with a configuration software and implements runtime version of the downloaded application. The HMI terminal is compatible with applications created in PanelBuilder32 software. This software has a part number or 2711-ND3 which is a legacy software. A replacement product with part number 2711-ND3A serves as the direct replacement to the product. The terminal connects to plant floor automation devices through the pre-installed DH485 communication port. DH485 can be used to communicate to automation devices for peer to peer to communication or used along with a 1747-UIC communications adapter to implement multi-partner communication. It also has an RS232 printer port or printing alarm lists and messages. The HMI terminal allows users and process operators to control, manipulate and monitor the status of the process visually. The 2711-K6C3 has a colored 5-inch screen and has a resolution of 320 x 240. The display panel is powered with AC power rated 85 to 264 Volts AC. It has a non-volatile memory of size of 240 KB and RAM memory of 170KB. It weighs 6 pounds with dimensions of 14 x 11 x 8 inches. It has a keypad made of Ten function keys that serves as the operator input area. These stainless-steel domed keypads has an actuation lifespan of 2 million presses. The HMI panel supports firmware versions between 1.00 and 4.48. The screen is halogen lit that is field replaceable. Ideal backlight replacement comes when it reaches a runtime of 50,000 hours of half-life operating at temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The 2711-K6C2 display panel has 10 function keys that can be configured for different control and trigger functions. The HMI panel support insertion of additional components such as keypad legend inserts, anti-glare overlays, Real-time clock, power supply terminal blocks, interface modules and upload/download cables.
