The 2711-K10G3L1 is an Allen-Bradley PanelView 1000 which belongs to the Bulletin 2711 PanelView Standard Operator Terminal product family. The 2711-K10G3L1 is an automation component used in implementing Human Machine Interface (HMI) solutions. HMI refers to a hardware device that enables real-time operator and machine interaction. HMI solutions increases process and machine uptime as it can be custom designed to fit process requirements. It has a built-in DH485 port for connection to DH485 network and perform data exchange between enabled devices. DH485 is an industry approved protocol from Allen Bradley capable of implementing RS232 or RS485 similar topology. RS232 supports peer to peer connection while RS485 may be use in multi-drop configuration with 32 devices in one segment. The HMI device also comes with a pre-installed RS232 printer port for printing alarm lists and messages for the purpose of documentation, process analysis and historization. The HMI has a visualization screen with 10-inch size in Grayscale. It has a display area of 211 x 158 mm (8.3 x 6.2 in.) and resolution of 640 x 480. It also comes with a backlight capable of 50,000 hr. 1/2 life at 25 °C (77 °F). This backlight is field replacebale. The operator input area is through thestainless-steel domed membrane keypad with Sixteen (16) function keys that can last up to 1 million presses. The keypads are assignable to a variety of applications such as triggering controls, activating control elements, initiating events, enabling systems dialog, acknowledging alarms, printing and other important functions. As indicated in the part number, the “L1” refers to a DC powered device. The 2711-K10G3L1 accepts an input source with nominal range of 18-32VDC. It has a memory of 310 KB application runtime and a 1008 KB expandable nonvolatile memory. The 2711-K10G3L1 is configured using PanelBuilder32 software.
