The HVX050A1-4A1N1 is part of Cutler Hammer’s HVAC Driveline. It can produce 50 Hp and comes with standard software. It has a NEMA Type 1 enclosure with the alphanumeric terminal. It has a voltage rating of 480 Volts and requires a 3-phase EMC H input. This unit features standard boards but doesn’t have a brake chopper circuit. The HVX050A1-4A1N1, like the other HVX9000 series drives, uses a modular design and sophisticated semiconductor technology to offer flexibility to users. It is important to maintain proper spacing when installing the drivers for air-cooling and circulation. There should be at least a 3.1-millimeter clearance around the drive. Another factor to consider when installing the HVX050A1-4A1N1 is the cooling air requirement. The drive needs a minimum airflow of 250 centimeters within the area where you will mount the drive. Failure to achieve the standard airflow can reduce the efficiency of the drive.
When wiring the HVX050A1-4A1N1, make sure you use heat-resistant copper cables. The input power line and fuses have values according to the rated input of the drive. Be sure to check the user manual to determine the right lines and fuses for the drive. For maximum protection of the drive, it is important to use UL recognized fuses only. The control unit of the HVX050A1-4A1N1 consists of a control board and different standard boards that connect into five slot connectors. Option boards are available for both digital and analog I/O, communication, and other application-specific hardware. Additional input/output and communication cards add more plug and play functionality to the drive.
