The D100EAN8 is an expander unit manufactured by the former Cutler-Hammer, which now belongs to the Eaton Corporation. This expander unit is manufactured and designed to the standards of the D100 series. The Cutler-Hammer D100EAN8 expander unit has a power supply of 115 Volts AC, a triac (8) output and no input. This unit is an eight I/O expander unit and it features an eight centimeters cable. This expander unit can withstand a voltage of 1500 Volts AC per 1 minute, a rated voltage of 24 Volts DC internal and 85 to 132 Volts DC external and an input current of 10 mA. The Cutler-Hammer D100EAN8 expander unit is an important part of an integral system. Up to two expander units can be adapted to a controller, as long as the number of inputs and outputs do not exceed the maximum amount used by the controller.
The Cutler-Hammer D100EAN8 expander unit is usually mounted in a protective enclosure, designed to withstand certain environments. When used with a controller, they are mounted on a panel of the enclosure. This expander unit is connected by cable to the controller and in this way, it provides additional inputs and outputs. It is attached to a controller by the means of a cable, enabling the expander unit to have extra connections and this way be connected to more devices at the same time. The terminal numbers on the nameplates of expansion units show the address of input/output devices as they should be used in general systems. The D100EAN8 expansion eight I/O unit does not feature a correction label because of the many possible addresses these units could have.
